2019 New York’s Coolest OfficesJun 10, 2019
For the second year, Crain’s New York Business is featuring the Coolest Offices in New York. To be eligible, offices needed to have been opened, renovated or otherwise modified between Jan. 1, 2018, and March 31, 2019. Through online surveys, companies submitted descriptions and photos to demonstrate just what makes their office cool.
Crain’s editorial staff combed through dozens of candidates, seeking spaces that showcase the latest trends and are built for the future of work. Fifteen winners and finalists were selected in five categories: new construction, retrofit, amenities, décor and collaborative space.
COOLEST NEW SPACE
3 World Trade Center // Financial District
ARCHITECT: TPG Architecture ◾ CONTRACTOR: JRM Construction Management
IEX’s business model may be the future of trading, so it comes as little surprise that the company’s new office at 3 World Trade Center has a futuristic feel. There’s a silver sheen across the 44,000-square-foot office and its vast meeting spaces. Passers-by can view IEX’s servers perched in a glass-walled room, which is the company’s way of showing that transparency is a priority.
