AccuWeather, the world’s largest and fastest-growing weather digital media company, and luxury beverage giant, Moët Hennessy USA, are moving to 7 World Trade Center.

Moët Hennessy has signed a 15-year, 82,000 s/f lease on the 35th and 36th floors and will relocate its corporate headquarters from Chelsea to the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill-designed office tower in 2021.

“7 World Trade Center is one of the most advanced buildings in the world, and also our home,” said Larry A. Silverstein, Chairman of Silverstein Properties.

“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Moët Hennessy USA to this building and to the neighborhood. Downtown Manhattan is one of the most exciting, vibrant, and dynamic places in New York – there is something great happening here every hour of the day. I look forward to watching Moët Hennessy USA continue to grow and prosper here.”

Jim Clerkin, president and CEO of Moët Hennessy North America said, “Lower Manhattan’s transformation into one of the city’s liveliest neighborhoods was a draw, alongside its infrastructure, lifestyle options and convenient amenities for our employees.”

“We raise a toast to Moët Hennessy USA on their decision to relocate to Lower Manhattan,” added Downtown Alliance President Jessica Lappin.

“By choosing this neighborhood, Moët Hennessy USA joins a growing and diverse community of businesses that represent many of the world’s leading luxury brands. Santé!”

Jeremy Moss, Director of World Trade Center Leasing for Silverstein Properties, led negotiations for the landlord, along with Mary Ann Tighe, Ken Meyerson, Evan Haskell and Stephen Eynon of CBRE.

Moët Hennessy USA was represented by Michael Geoghegan, Matthew McBride, Lauren Crowley Corrinet, Munish Viralam of CBRE.

Meanwhile, Accuweather announced its expansion and relocation from the Rockefeller Center to 7 WTC to support its growth in digital media,

The offices are located on the 32nd floor at 250 Greenwich Street and doubles the space the media company occupied in Rockefeller Center.

The state-of-the-art space features views of the Hudson and East Rivers in addition to the new World Trade Center.

The design and layout will be utilized for digital and linear video content development and the AccuWeather Network as well.

“New York City is the hub of the advertising business in the U.S. and a gateway to the world in many respects, so it is natural that we continue to grow our footprint here,” said Dr. Joel N. Myers, AccuWeather Founder and CEO.

“The new location enables us to serve clients more effectively and also helps us to attract world-class expertise and talent in media sales, consumer product development, visual design and marketing that AccuWeather demands.”

“The new site places AccuWeather at the epicenter of where media and tech have converged in New York City and the world,” added Eric Danetz, AccuWeather Global Chief Revenue Officer.

“It’s a high-profile location with hundreds of media companies, advertising and marketing technology firms, investors and influencers in key global markets. We’re excited about working in closer proximity to potential customers and partners, so we can quickly respond to their unique needs and collaborate on exciting, cutting-edge initiatives.”

AccuWeather’s global headquarters is located in State College, Pennsylvania, the center of its media production and weather forecasting operations. AccuWeather also has a Severe Weather Center in Wichita, Kansas, and maintains offices in Beijing, Dublin, Montreal, Mumbai, Oklahoma City, Seoul and Tokyo.

The company employs approximately 500 team members, including more than 100 operational meteorologists.

Ben Fastenberg, Senior Vice President at CBRE, was responsible for the Accuweather deal.

Accuweather and Moet Hennessy join a roster that includes Moody’s Corporation, New York Academy of Sciences, Mansueto Ventures and WilmerHale.

“Private-sector employment numbers in Lower Manhattan have swelled to an all-time high, bringing over 250,000 jobs to the neighborhood,” said Jeremy Moss. “The World Trade Center plays a significant role in providing companies with modern high tech buildings in a neighborhood close to the City’s most talented professionals across a variety of industries.”
