Wedding planner falls for 7 WTCJan 23, 2019
Silverstein Properties chairman Larry Silverstein announced that the company has signed a lease with Zola, the fastest growing wedding company in the country, for 30,000 s/f of office space at 7 World Trade Center.
Zola is a one-stop site for couples getting married, offering tools to simplify every step of the wedding planning and registry process.
The company has raised over $140 million in venture capital financing, and well over half a million couples have used the platform. Zola is just five years old and is already the digital leader in the $100 billion US wedding industry.
Zola, which is currently headquartered in Lower Manhattan, will move its office to the 39th floor of 7 World Trade Center in 2019.
Included in the lease is the opportunity to build a showroom for engaged couples to explore all of Zola’s online wedding planning tools and registry gifts in-person.
“We’ve tripled our headcount in the past two years and we needed to find a building that could accommodate our fast growth and big vision for the future,” said Shan-Lyn Ma, CEO and Co-Founder of Zola. “7 World Trade is the perfect place for Zola.”
Larry Silverstein said: “I’ve often said that the most important decision you can make in your life is to marry the right person. The right one enables you to do anything you want to do with your life because you do it together. You do it as partners. You’re totally dedicated to each other. In real estate, the most important decision a company can make is to choose the right location. I’m thrilled to welcome Zola to 7 World Trade Center, a building that is also our home. We look forward to many years of happiness together!”
Jeremy Moss, Director of World Trade Center Leasing for Silverstein Properties, led the negotiations for the landlord, along with Camille McGratty, Vice President.
The CBRE agency team included Mary Ann Tighe, Steven Siegel, Adam Foster, Steve Eynon, Evan Haskell, David Caperna, Ken Meyerson and Rob Hill. Zola was represented by Marcus Rayner, Vice Chairman, Colliers and Sam Einhorn, Associate Director, Colliers. Zola has also hired HLW to design its space.
